IT Career Survey Shows That Employees Bringing in New Technologies That Automate Processes And Realize Major Corporate Savings Have The Most Successful Careers

60 Percent of Senior IT Managers Reward or Promote Employees Who Champion New Storage Technologies that Result in Significant Capital Savings

SAN FRANCISCO – Dec 4, 2007 – MonoSphere Inc., the creator of award-winning storage capacity management software, today announced the results of a survey revealing the top drivers that help storage professionals in medium and large organizations advance in their careers. The survey reveals that 60 percent of IT leaders - from managers to CIOs – identified championing technology, which saves capital dollars that can be allocated to other projects, as having the biggest impact on employee success. Championing technology that automates mission-critical processes for the company was acknowledged as having the second biggest impact.

“As the year ends, we wanted to take a close look at what would help storage professionals advance in their careers, and we noticed that embracing new technologies that save the company millions of dollars in hardware costs and automate current processes topped the list,” said Frank Kettenstock, vice president of marketing at MonoSphere. “Our survey clearly indicated that in today’s IT world, employees who recommend or purchase leading-edge storage technologies that have a clear return on investment are rewarded.”

The survey reveals that metrics on storage availability, customer feedback, and backup processes are identified as important aspects in determining employees’ raises or promotions. Storage professionals are generally happy in their current roles, with 77 percent saying they like or love their jobs. The survey shows that it normally takes five to seven years of experience before employees are promoted to management. The survey included 112 respondents, with the majority of them working at the same company for three to five years.
